Wilson Hurley: The Richness of Reality

Nedra Matteucci Galleries is pleased to announce Wilson Hurley: The Richness of Reality, our third exhibition of Wilson Hurley (1924-2008), one of America’s foremost landscape painters. The show opens on June 27, and the paintings will remain on display through the summer of 2020. The exhibition features Hurley’s well-known western landscapes, as well as seascapes, aviation, and space paintings.

The exhibition is accompanied by the new book, The Life and Art of Wilson Hurley: Celebrating the Richness of Reality, written by the late artist's wife, Rosalyn Roembke Hurley. An intimate biography describes Hurley's journey as a soldier, aviator, lawyer, banker, author and an artist who came to painting late in life and paid a heavy personal price to do so.

“Hurley painted against the odds,” says Gallery Owner, Nedra Matteucci. “When we look at his work, we can see why. His talent and conviction are a great inspiration to artists and collectors alike.”
